Google is currently introducing an innovation from which small service companies in particular can benefit. After the test phase in the USA, Google introduced the so-called local Service Ads (LSAs) in Germany and several other European countries. These include the Benelux countries, Switzerland, Austria, France, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, England and Spain. With local Service Ads (LSAs), advertisements are placed that are essentially limited to what is absolutely necessary to ensure uncomplicated contact between the service provider and a potential customer.
How can I place local Service Ads?
At the beginning the service provider needs a registered Google Account. Then you have to register for the ad format and will be checked. This verification of qualification can take several days. Once you have passed the review, you can create the relevant ads. You can be contacted either by phone, email or messenger. A direct booking function will be available at a later date.
Which contacts are relevant for Google billing?
Google only bills those qualified contacts for which a contact has actually been made. This naturally includes when the customer calls and talks to the service provider. In addition, a letterbox message from the customer is also counted as contact. Google also evaluates the contact made by e-mail as a qualified contact. In the future, a completed booking request will also be added, which is already integrated in the USA.
Which industries can use local Service Ads (LSAs)?
At present, only very specific industries can place local Service Ads. These include repair services for electrical equipment, water damage, heating and air conditioning, garage doors, broken windows and roof work. Services such as garden maintenance, window and carpet cleaning can also use local Service Ads in the local area. Movers and pest control companies can also benefit. The sectors will certainly continue to expand in the future.

The billing of local service ads is done as cost per lead (pay per lead), which will please many small businesses. For service providers, this form of billing has an important advantage over the pay per click billing method, because it saves the advertising budget and achieves a visible result immediately.
